Whale Watch Kaikoura - New Zealand Tourist Attraction. This week we continued to see transient Sperm Whales on our tours, the sheer size of them was very impressive!

They tend to be on the larger side of the Sperm Whale size spectrum, reaching up to 2. We also encountered the regular non- whale visitors on the majority of our tours, the Dusky Dolphin, Hectors Dolphin and NZ Fur Seal. These species are the cherry on top of our tours, and you always know you’re in for a good day at sea when you spot a pod of dolphins right at the beginning of your tour.

Last week we had some exciting news regarding road access to Kaikōura, State Highway 1 from Kaikōura to Picton is re- opening for public access on the 1. December 2. 01. 7! Construction crews have been working tirelessly, through all hours of the night, to have this road open and ready for daytime travel from 7: 0. AM – 8: 0. 0PM. This will mean driving time from Picton to Christchurch will be cut down to 5 ½ hours! Unless you plan on sneaking in a stopover in sunny Kaikōura for some fish n chips on the beach and a whale watching tour, which is always a good idea. We thank you all for your patience over the last 1.

We are now back running on our fixed tour timetable – 7: 1. AM, 1. 0AM, 1. 2: 4. PM and 3: 3. 0PM (Nov- Mar) with additional tours schedule based on customer demand.
